YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — Search teams in Yakima County are looking for a 55-year-old Seattle doctor reported missing on Washington’s Mount Adams. The doctor was not identified.
Sgt. George Town says the missing man and a friend went hiking Sunday in an area of the 12,276-foot mountain known as the “Lunch Counter.” They separated, planning to ski down later and meet back at their car but only the male friend had returned by late Sunday afternoon. He called for help Sunday evening.
Town says a Central Washington Mountain Rescue team searched higher elevations Monday while search and rescue climbing teams worked below and 4×4 vehicle teams patrolled the roads below the climbers.
The search will continue Tuesday.
