Hawks’ Lynch Charged with DUI
(CBS Seattle) –Marshawn Lynch now officially faces a DUI charge.
The Seattle Seahawks running star back nicknamed “Beast Mode” will make a court appearance on August 14th regarding his arrest in California over the weekend for suspicion of drunk driving. Lynch was driving in the Bay Area city of Emeryville early Sunday morning when he was pulled over for swerving and nearly hitting other cars on the road.
After being pulled over, the 26-year-old was taken to a nearby jail, where he was cited and later released.
The arrest comes less than six months after the former Cal Bear inked a multi-year to remain as the hawks number one back for the next four years. The $31 million deal was given to Lynch after last year’s performance of 1,204 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
In 2009, Lynch pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor gun charge in Los Angeles and was sentenced to 80 hours of community service and three years probation. Lynch was also involved in a hit-and-run crash in Buffalo the year before.
