The official Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade, a celebratory part of Seattle’s Seafair Festival, will be in downtown Seattle on Saturday, July 28. Events of the day will happen at Seattle Center and down 4th Avenue in the heart of downtown.

Starting at 2:00pm, it’s the Seafair Torchlight Spectacular at Seattle Center! Enjoy family fun and exclusive performances from Disney stars Coco Jones and Jack Skuller. Then explore the fun, interactive booths with prizes, give-aways and free samples. There will also be parade floats for the upcoming Torchlight Parade on display along Mercer Street. The Torchlight Spectacular goes on until 6:30pm.

Michelob ULTRA Seafair Torchlight Run is Seattle’s original road race features a NEW 5K and 8K course! Both races will journey down the Alaska Airlines Torchlight Parade route and be televised live on KIRO TV. The race will start and end at the Seattle Center. The new route will start on South Lake Union, storm the Parade route, hit the viaduct and return to the Naval Reserve Station on South Lake Union.

Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade is in its 63rd year! Young and old will make their way to downtown Seattle early Saturday morning and stake a curbside seat along the two-and-a-half mile route hours before the 7:30pm start. Many people attend the parade to cheer on family members and friends. Still others attend the Torchlight Parade because it represents a civic celebration rich in tradition, one that instills a feeling of excitement with every drum beat. For one magical night, the city comes together in the heart of downtown to celebrate a variety of entertainment that makes the Alaska Airlines Seafair Torchlight Parade a truly special evening.

Musician Duff McKagan, the Torchlight Parade’s Grand Marshal, is a rock and roll hall-of-famer from Seattle. McKagan has played in over 30 rock bands – including his 13-year tenure as a founding member and the bassist of heavy metal group Guns n’ Roses. Duff co-founded the band Velvet Revolver and is the leader of Seattle’s Loaded. McKagan will be officially knighted by Seafair Royalty on Torchlight Night. In addition to his parade grand marshal duties, Duff will be serving as an ambassador of Seafair Weekend where he will welcome the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, take a ride in a vintage hydroplane and wakeboard with the pros, among other activities.
