As crews from across the state battle the growing blaze and hundreds of people and animals are displaced, many AM1090 listeners have asked what they can do to help. There are many groups and organizations leading efforts to assist both emergency responders and residents of Central Washington who are in need. Below is a list of the resources we are aware of, please feel free to add any we’ve missed in the comments section.
Kittitas County Red Cross Chapter, Phone: 509-925-5866. The Red Cross asks: “PLEASE consider helping us by making a monetary donation to the Ellensburg Chapter – we are located at 312 North Pearl Street.
In addition to monetary donations, groups are collecting donations of non-perishable food items, water, toiletries, baby items, and summer clothes, along with cat and dog food.
Facebook groups have been set up for Community Connect, Kittitas County and Taylor Bridge Fire Help.
Snohomish County’s Fire District 26 is collecting donations and supplies for displaced people and animals at the following drop off locations:
