Just announced by KOMO News, a public celebration of Seattle anchorwoman Kathi Goertzen’s life will take place on Sunday, August 19 at 1:00pm at the Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center. Doors will open at 12:30pm.
According to http://www.komonews.com, the limited seating inside the Pavilion will be for Kathi’s family, friends and co-workers. However, an audio feed of the celebration will be broadcast on the grounds outside, and the public is invited to sit in the grassy areas and listen. You are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets if you plan to attend. The full service will also be streamed live on www.KOMONews.com.
On Kathi Goertzen KOMO‘s Facebook page yesterday, one of her daughters posted, “Our family is so grateful to be a part of such a rock of a city and state full of people like you…. We are working on a memorial to celebrate Mom’s life and you are all invited. We love you and so does Mom.”
Kathi Goertzen passed away on Monday, August 13 after years of fighting brain tumors.
