Company Selling Vodka That’s As Hot As Pepper Spray
KENT, U.K. (CBS Seattle) — It’s been compared to “devil’s tears, with a side of Agent Orange mixed with Pepper Spray,” and that’s just on the manufacturer’s website.
The demonic substance is called Naga Chili Vodka, a spirit so hot that it’s almost on the same scale as the pepper spray law enforcement personnel uses.
The substance being sold by MasterOfMalt.com is created by infusing Naga Jolokia chilies with vodka. Naga Jolokia chilies are recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s hottest pepper.
The Naga Jolokia chilie’s scoville number is close to 2 million. A scoville number is a measurement of the capsaicin in a pepper. Capsaicin is what gives peppers the heat that so many crave.
When the infusion process is done, the final product is around 250,000 scoville units.
To put it in perspective, cayenne is about 30,000 to 50,000 scoville units and Tabasco Sauce is about 2,500 to 5,000 units.
Although the retailer is based in the U.K., they are willing to ship to the United States. However, a buyer must agree “the retailer and manufacturer of this product will, under no circumstances, be responsible for, or liable for, any claims of injury or damage arising from the use or misuse of this product.”
With that being said, drink up.
