NAPAVINE, Wash. (AP) — The Washington State Patrol says a 14-year-old Portland girl was driving under the influence when she swerved to avoid a deer on Interstate 5 about 3:30 a.m. Sunday near Napavine, just south of Chehalis.
The minivan rolled and came to rest on its top.
Also in the car were a 16-year-old girl who ran away from home and a 51-year-old Portland man who owns the van. The girls were treated at a hospital for minor injuries. The man declined treatment for a cut on his forehead.
KATU reports (http://is.gd/HrtL52 ) it’s unclear how the three are connected.
The 14-year-old faces charges of minor in possession, drunken driving and driving without a license.
