Saturday, October 13 is National Costume Swap Day for kids! There are some local places helping you donate your ‘old’ costumes and find ‘new’ ones! Plus great vintage shops with swaps for moms and dads, too!

This will be a fun fall event, with a Halloween craft, swap and complimentary hot Cider to go around. Bring in used costumes or dress up items for kids (ages 0-7). Swap will be held Holli Dunn’s photography studio – portraits will be offered to the kids in their new costumes! After which they will be uploaded to an online gallery where you can download and/or print your favorites for a very nominal fee, or download the web version free. Morning time available for the little ones, and for bigger kids, afternoon is available. A drop box will be left outside the studio for drop off the week prior. Please drop your costume early before the swap.

You will find a tremendous selection of vintage and new clothing to purchase, plus a great way to recycle your used clothing and make some cash as well. Drop off your swap-able costumes at Small Threads during business hours starting on October 1. In exchange for your costume(s) you will be given a Swap Ticket(s) to be brought back for the event on October 13. During the event, participants will be treated to a 20% discount on all Small Thread merchandise; that’s right, you can swap and then shop! To sweeten the deal even more, Adventure Kids Playcare is offering one free hour of childcare during the two hours of the swap. Expect goodies from local businesses and Macaroni Kid, too!
