SEATTLE (CBS Seattle) — A Seattle mom is involved in a stinky dispute with the city’s Metro Transit.
Nichole Hakimian claims that a bus driver kicked her and 1-year-old son off the bus because of the child’s smelly diaper.
“[H]e had just pooped in his diaper as soon as I got on, because he was having diarrhea,” Hakimian told KOMO-TV. “And right after that, she told me I had to get off the bus.”
Hakimian said that the bus driver told her that it wasn’t fair to the other passengers to deal with the foul odor.
“She says, ‘Your baby — he smells really bad, and it’s not fair that we all have to smell that,”‘ the four-month pregnant Hakimian explained to KOMO. “I said, ‘My son is sick. I’m taking him to a doctor’s appointment.'”
She says she was let off a half-mile from the clinic she was taking her child to.
Seattle’s Metro Transit says it is investigating the allegations.
“Based on reports, this appears to be a very unique situation. Our goal is always to balance the comfort of all of our riders with providing good customer service,” spokesman Jeff Switzer told KOMO. “We are investigating the complaint, and will get a report from the driver to confirm what happened and that proper procedures were followed.”
Hakimian says she was able to make it to the clinic after changing her son’s diaper and catching another bus.
