It’s that time of year when the man in the red suit comes to town! Get your family together and head to one of these fun and festive holiday parades to welcome Santa to the Puget Sound.

My Macy’s Seattle Holiday Parade and Santaland

This year’s Parade will include two new helium star balloons which will escort Santa’s sleigh. The parade will feature 25 inflatable floats, local middle and high school marching bands, over 600 costumed characters, professional sports teams and community drill teams. The parade will conclude with Santa dashing in his sleigh to Santaland at Macy’s!

Come and wave to Santa as he rides through Downtown Snohomish and arrives in style on the day after Thanksgiving! Meet Santa at the corner of 1st Street and Avenue B, for the official Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony at 4:00pm and help Santa use his magic to light the Tree! The event starts at 3:30pm with a live holiday music performance. After Santa lights the tree, guests will be treated to more live music and children will have the chance to meet and chat with Santa. If you come, bring your own camera to BeeBops & Lollipops located at 1112 First Street, for photos with Santa from approximately 5:00pm -7:00pm. Many shops will stay open later so you can start your Christmas shopping in Historic Downtown Snohomish!

Bellevue Snowflake Lane premiers on Friday, November 23, when Santa makes his once and only grand arrival for the holidays at Bellevue Square! The new parade route starts on NE 8th at the Bellevue Place and Lincoln Square sky bridge and winds down Bellevue Way past Macy’s, then back to the Hyatt Bellevue Hotel. This year has a new surprise as Santa and his favorite characters from Snowflake Lane finish the parade at the Bellevue Place Wintergarden for a Santa Meet, Greet and Pictures! This happens right after the parade so bring your camera. Start a new tradition with the Santa and your children. The parade will continue nightly (without Santa, however) at 7:00pm through December 31.

A festive and fun children’s parade, which is followed by a community caroling and the lighting of the City Hall Christmas tree. Pre-parade entertainment starts at 4:00pm in front of City Hall. Come before the parade the the Snack and Craft event from 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Washington Elementary. The Auburn Avenue Theater (10 Auburn Avenue) will host a family holiday movie after the parade at 6:00pm.

What’s one of Tacoma’s favorite holiday traditions? Watching the Holiday Lighted Boat Parade’s twinkling lights and decorations that bring “oohs” and “aahs” from all ages! The parade travels along the Tacoma waterfront, featuring boats large and small competing for top prizes for best decor. As part of the annual tradition, the parade of lighted boats proceeds to the head of the Thea Foss Waterway, then each boat turns and exits the waterway a few minutes later. Viewers on land watching from the shores of the Foss Waterway get two times the treat – seeing the lighted boats pass by twice!
