EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — A Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman says a deputy was seriously injured in a rollover crash as he followed another driver who had been reported to be driving recklessly.
Spokeswoman Shari Ireton said the 12-year law enforcement veteran was driving Monday afternoon in south Everett when he passed a silver BMW that had been reported to be driving recklessly. Ireton says the deputy made a U-turn and began to follow the silver car but lost control of his own car, which rolled.
The unidentified officer was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The spokeswoman says the BMW eventually hit a curb and was disabled. The driver fled on foot. She says the silver car is believed to have been stolen.
