(CBS Seattle) - The Week 16 match-up between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle on Dec. 23 has been moved to NBC’s “Sunday Night Football.”
The move is part of the league’s flex scheduling; high-profile and playoff-determining games often get moved to primetime, replacing games that will have no impact on the playoff picture. In this case, the San Diego Chargers game against the New York Jets that was originally scheduled to be the SNF game is getting bumped up to a normal afternoon game.
In the past two seasons, the Hawks-Niners games have been extremely physical and carry several story lines. This year, fans are salivating over Russell Wilson vs. Colin Kaepernick; and Jim Harbaugh vs. Pete Carroll. The game will also likely make the winner’s road to an NFC West championship an easy one.
