Police Arrest Anchorage Man In Woman’s Death

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Anchorage police say they’ve arrested a man suspected of killing a woman Wednesday evening.

Police spokesman Lt. Dave Parker says 24-year-old David Lopez of Anchorage has been arrested on several charges, including first- and second-degree murder and resisting arrest.

Parker says in a release that Lopez called 911 about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, saying he thought he shot a woman.

Medics responded to the East Anchorage apartment and pronounced the woman dead. The victim’s name won’t be released until relatives are notified.

Police are expected to release more information after Lopez is arraigned.
