OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — Heavy rain and winds caused a mudslide that hit Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks about 1:30 a.m. Monday in the Nisqually area north of Olympia.
Spokesman Gus Melonas (mel-OWN’-us) says the track has been cleared for freight trains, but there’s a 48-hour safety moratorium for Amtrak trains between Olympia and Tacoma.
