Charges Filed In Fatal Bellevue Bar Shooting
SEATTLE (AP) — King County prosecutors have filed second-degree murder charges against the 19-year-old man accused of fatally shooting another man inside a Bellevue bar on Christmas Eve.
Spokesman Dan Donohoe says the charges were filed Friday against Ja’Mari Alexander Jones, who remains on the run.
Jones was one of three teens convicted in the 2008 beating death of a Seattle street musician known as Tuba Man, 53-year-old Ed McMichael. Jones was sentenced as a juvenile to less than a year in detention for manslaughter and robbery.
The second-degree murder charge would bring a sentence range of 20 to 28 years in prison.
Killed in the shooting at the Munchbar was a 30-year-old man while another man was wounded. More than 600 people were in the venue when the shooting occurred.
