Thunderbirds Acquire Two Forwards At Deadline
(1090 The Fan) – Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell today announced the team has acquired Adam Kambeitz from the Saskatoon Blades and Andrew Johnson from the Moose Jaw Warriors.
According to a release issued by the team, Seattle offered up its third round pick in the 2014 Bantam Draft to Saskatoon for Kambeitz and a fourth round pick in the 2013 Bantam Draft to Moose Jaw for Johnson.
Kambeitz, 20, has 21 points this season on nine goals and 13 assists. He has 300 career games under his belt with the Blades and Red Deer Rebels; Kambeitz shot 53 goals and hit 66 assists for 119 points with 316 penalty minutes.
Johnson, 18, has 15 points this season on five goals and 10 assists. He has played 159 games with the Warriors and has 27 goals and 41 assists for 68 points with 110 penalty minutes. Johnson was a second round pick, 29th overall, in the 2009 Bantam Draft.
The T-Birds next game is Saturday against the Victoria Royals at ShoWare Center at 7:05pm. They travel to Kennewick to take on the Tri-City Americans on Sunday at 5:05pm.
