Guide to Let’s Play Tacoma! on January 19

LET’S PLAY! is a Sports and Fitness Experience under one roof! On Saturday, January 19, come for a day long event at the Tacoma Dome! Let’s Play is put on by Tacoma South Sound Sports, and is filled with opportunities for kids and adults to participate, educate, and compete in a variety of recreational sports!

There will be spectator tournaments as well as open participation tournaments in basketball, wrestling, gymnastics, fencing, sport stacking and more that attendees can sign up to compete in.

Participated in a series of FREE sports and fitness clinics, presented by coaches, players and organizers of youth sports. Plus there will be lots of health and wellness activities like yoga, Zumba and CrossFit taking place! Join in!

Throughout the entire event, clubs and organizations will be hosting demonstrations of their various sport or fitness activities. Watch samplings of quad rugby, roller derby, karate, gymnastics and others. Many will offer open participation for the crowd!

Lots of vendors for you to peruse, with products for sale or information on their services.

There will be plenty of live music, special appearances by local celebrities and more. Younger kids will enjoy the PlayZone area, that features t-ball, a bounce house and other fun activities suited for their age and abilities.

You’ll be able to meet some amazing athletes at Let’s Play! between 12:00pm – 5:00pm, including:
Ariana Kukors (5th Place at London Games and current world record holder in 200m IM swim); Maylon Hanold (1992 Barcelona Olympics in canoe & kayak); Paralympic athletes Desiree Miller (4th place in 2012 Paralympic Games in Wheelchair basketball plus a SLEW of other gold medals and championships!); and Mareike Adermann (German National Team Wheelchair Basketball 2012 London Paralympics: Gold Medal — Highest Scoring Player).

Let’s Play will be held on Saturday, January 17 from 10:00am – 10:00pm.

Parking at the Tacoma Dome is FREE for Let’s Play! Tickets are FREE for kids up to age 18 with student ID, and $7/adults. For more details, visit the website at http://www.letsplaytacoma.org. Plus, you can bring 5 non-perishable food items for the Emergency Food Network and recieve $1 off price of admission at the door.
