(1090 The Fan) – Ask NBA.com’s David Aldridge what he thinks of the eventual sale of the Sacramento Kings, he’ll tell you it’s only a matter of time before the franchise is playing in the Pacific Northwest.

Aldridge argues despite the recent developments of local Sacramento buyers putting their names into the mix of people who would keep the team in California’s capital, the Maloof family (the Kings’ current owners) have no interest in being the “good guys” and selling to a local buyer. Aldridge says, “The Maloofs have already implemented plans for a cash call to their minority investors to try and raise capital to pay some of their debts, but that’s not going to change their overall intent.”

There also may be more of a force coming from Seattle that previously thought. According to Aldridge, Investor Chris Hansen has been waiting for the Seahawks season to end (and it just did) before going with a more aggressive, public campaign to reel in the Kings (out of respect to Seahawks owner Paul Allen).
