Seattle Women’s Chorus will take you down memory lane with highlights from seasons past — including Chely Wright’s “Like Me,” Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” and more — and they’ll showcase some well-known divas like Melissa Etheridge, Tracy Chapman, and others as they Celebrate! 10 years together. SWC is thrilled to welcome Tacoma native, Vicci Martinez, to join them on stage. You know Ms. Martinez as one of the finalists from the first season of NBC’s hit series, The Voice. She’ll combine her talents with SWC for a curtain-to-curtain celebration that is sure to bring the house down! After the concert you can continue to CELEBRATE! in the lobby of Benaroya with a huge party! There’s trouble in River City, my friends, and Professor Harold Hill has the antidote — an all-boys marching band. But Marian the Librarian sees through his schemes, at least until she falls in love with the irrepressible con artist. Overflowing with a parade of tunes including “Seventy Six Trombones,” “Gary, Indiana,” and “Till There Was You”, it’s the perfect Valentine performance for the whole family. Romance is in the air—along with some of the most romantic music in the world—at this celebration of Cuba’s contribution to the love of love. Because if Cubans didn’t actually invent romance, they did create its most exquisite forms of expression: the bolero and its jazzy offshoot, el Feeling. And no one expresses that emotion better than Grammy-nominated Cuban guitarist, composer, and vocalist Juan-Carlos Formell, who performs a program called Un bolero que te salve la vida / A Bolero to Save Your Life. Tickets online.
