RAPID CITY, S.D. (CBS Seattle) — A minor league hockey promotion went horribly awry after college students began puking on the ice after chugging beers during the “College Olympics.”

The incident took place last Friday during intermission at the Rapid City Rush game.

According to the Rapid City Journal, two male students vomited on the ice in front of 5,000 fans after chugging four beers while running on the ice, riding a cooler and spinning around a hockey stick.

“It was almost enough to quit as a four-year season ticket holder of two seats,” season ticket holder Tom Regan told the Journal. “The Rush can do better. My wife and I were disappointed as there are many youngsters easily impressed by inappropriate behavior, and many adults that do not want to see promotion of drinking and vomiting at a public venue in the name of entertainment.”

Rush management apologized for what happened.

“It was meant to be fun, but it went completely wrong,” Rush General Manager Tim Hill told the Journal. “I apologize on behalf the organization. Obviously it was in poor taste. The intermission game was not appropriate, and it’s just something we will never do again.”

The students did not need medical attention following the incident.
