Join in the movement One Billion Rising with NiaSeattle on “V-Day” (Feburary 14). One Billion Rising is a global effort to join forces, dancing together to end violence against women and girls. According to the One Billion Rising website, one in three women on the planet will be raped or beaten in her lifetime. One Billion Rising is speaking out against violence towards women and girls, and is spending a day in dance.

One of theOne Billion Rising events in Washington will take place on Thursday, February 14 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm at the Crossroads Bellevue Shopping Center Market Stage.

Local NiaSeattle instructors will join the global organization One Billion Rising in a dance to say no to violence against women and girls, and to celebrate a new time and a new way of being.

By participating, you will join activists, writers, celebrities and women and men in 190 countries across the world voice their wish to end violence against women.

NiaSeattle teachers will lead the group in an easy-to-follow Nia dance routine. The event is FREE and open to the public.
