Over the past 8 years, Children’s Film Festival Seattle has become the largest and most respected film festival on the West Coast dedicated to children and their families. Each year, Northwest Film Forum selects more than 120 international children’s films from 35+ countries, reaching more than 10,000 people during festival screenings in Seattle and a subsequent festival tour of 15-20 U.S. cities. Produced by Northwest Film Forum, the 11-day extravaganza celebrates the best and brightest in international cinema for children, featuring live performances, animation, features, shorts and hands-on education workshops, all crafted with care to appeal to the next generation of movie lovers. The Seattle Boat Show, Indoors + Afloat, is the West Coast’s Largest Boat Show featuring more than 1,000 recreational watercraft, seminars and the latest accessories indoors at CenturyLink Field, plus afloat on South Lake Union. A free shuttle runs every day between CenturyLink Field and South Lake Union every 30 minutes. There are lots of fun events this year! Check them all out online!

Featuring 28 wineries, over a dozen chocolatiers, many fine gift and specialties items. Two days of wine tasting, chocolate sampling, demonstrations, music, shopping and more. Every guest receives a commemorative wine glass and three wine tastings tickets. Tickets are $20 at the door. Each ticket is good for 2 day admission, a Riedel glass and 3 complimentary tasting scrips. Additional tasting tickets are available for $1 each.

Meet local distillers, sample their products, and learn about the art of creating spirits from the professionals. Guests receive five tasting tickets, food samples and live entertainment. Signature cocktails will also be available, created at the Signature Bar. Wine, beer, and soda will also be available for purchase. Proceeds from the event support GROW Washington. A day full of activities for you, your friends and family! Visit the museum’s newest exhibit New Years All Year Round, celebrating the Hmong, Japanese and Vietnamese celebrations in our KidPlace Gallery. At 11:00am, Lieu Quan Lion Dance Team blesses The Wing with their vibrant and energetic team spirit. Come watch and cheer on the dancers as they rid The Wing of any bad luck as we start the lucky year of the snake. Donations to the lion dance team are welcomed by feeding the lions during the dance. Then from 12:00pm – 3:00pm, it’s the Lunar New Years Fair. Take a passport journey/ride through our building, visit and create crafts, play games, read, watch and share new year stories and “pet” a New Year animal.

Snohomish Slew challenges Punxsutawney Phil to a battle for the most accurate weather forecast. What will be Seattle’s fate? Listen for Slew to croak that spring will arrive in 6 weeks or will his silence doom us to be ribbitt-ed by continued showers and slush. We will witness Slew’s frog-nostication and weather prediction at the gazebo. Plus, kids will enjoy tons of fun activities.
