Couple Claims They Saw UFO On Same Night As Russian Meteor Strike

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (CBS Seattle) – An unidentified flying object was spotted in the sky recently – and the entire incident was caught on camera.

The object was spotted the same night as the meteor strike near Chelyabinsk, Russia, according to KOBI-TV.

The video, obtained by area residents Heather Scherffius and Gregory Soldner, shows a white orb floating in the sky, out of place with the stars surrounding it.

“At first I was like what’s wrong with that star?” Scherffius recalled. “I thought, ‘Whoa, that’s kind of trippy. So I went to get [Soldner] and he’s like ‘Whoa! What is that?’”

She added, “And it started moving.”

According to the star-gazing pair, the object remained in sight, moving slightly, before it suddenly disappeared.

“It looked like a metal disk of some sort,” Soldner said. “I’m not sure, but it was metal and the way it moved was weird. I mean I don’t believe in flying saucers but…”

According to the National UFO Reporting Center, Oregon residents and visitors have reported 1,764 sightings of UFOs since the NUFORC began its work. Of those, 12 were reported so far this year.
