(CBS Seattle) – A man who has become notorious for posing as a Seattle Police officer and ripping people off has reportedly struck again — this time with a man’s box of pornographic magazines.

According to the Seattle Times, Ryan James Purdy allegedly robbed a man February 10 near Woodland Park in Seattle’s Green Lake neighborhood.

The incident unfolded when the man was allegedly was followed by Purdy, 46, into his car. The man had been stopped by Purdy earlier while he had the box of porn in his possession, according to police. Purdy then flashed his badge, claimed to be doing a “drug sting,” and then proceeded to pat the victim down, police said.

Purdy allegedly took the victim’s wallet, checked through it and gave it back to the victim before taking the box of porn magazines from the car and leaving.

The victim drove off but discovered his bank card was missing from his wallet an hour later during a grocery store run.

The Seattle Times reports that in a separate incident, Purdy allegedly knocked on the door of a Capitol Hill home and told a woman there that he was a federal agent. The woman slammed the door in his face.
