(CBS Seattle / AP)  — Despite having their lawsuit rejected last month, the International Longshore and Warehouse Union isn’t giving up on their effort to block the construction of a arena in the SODO neighborhood.

Officials for the union called a news conference Tuesday to announce it intends to appeal the judge’s ruling.

The union says an agreement between investor Chris Hansen and the city and county violates state environmental law, but a King County Superior Court judge rule Feb. 22 that the agreement was not a violation.

The union represents workers at the Port of Seattle who believe the basketball and hockey arena would hurt their jobs.
