(1090 The Fan) – Investor Chris Hansen is not letting the uncertainty of the Sacramento Kings’ future affect his plans in the least bit.
A new message from Hansen appeared on sonicsarena.com Monday showing the man behind the effort to bring the NBA back to the Emerald City is moving forward with ticket plans for an NBA franchise next season.
He is asking for people to sign up for a “Priority Ticket Waitlist,” — a system organizing potential Sonics season ticket holders that will allow Hansen’s investment group to get a feel for what the demand for tickets will be. The Priority Ticket Waitlist will go live on March 14 at 10 am PST.
Hansen says his group will also be trying to get in touch with all 2007-2008 Sonics season ticket holders and provide them with the opportunity to secure their same seat location for the team’s return.
The message marks his first statement since the announcement of the sale of the Kings from the Maloof family to Hansen and Microsoft Chairman Steve Ballmer on Jan. 21. That sale is pending league approval.
Hansen says no inference should be drawn between the start of a ticket waitlist and the efforts in closing the purchase of the Kings and relocating them to Seattle for the 2013-14 season.
