(1090 The Fan) – Percy Harvin’s arrival in Seattle indicated there would have be some subsequent roster moves. On Tuesday, kick-return specialist Leon Washington let it be known via Twitter that he isn’t part of the Seahawks’ future plans.
After finding no takers for Washington’s $1.5 million salary and $1 million roster bonus, the Seahawks will release Washington, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. NFL.com’s Chris Wesseling reports the move will save the team $2.13 in cap space to help squeeze in Harvin’s new contract.
Washington, 30, had 1,140 combined yards on kickoff and punt returns last season, with one touchdown. He has eight career kickoff return touchdowns.
