(1090 The Fan) – Because there’s more positive than negative surrounding the Seattle Mariners this season, it’s only appropriate the Bleacher Report shares the team’s biggest busts of spring training ’13.

Here are the three (relatively) major letdowns we saw in Peoria in March, according to Madison Guernsey:
1) “The Big Three” Prospects
2) Alex Liddi
3) Hector Noesi

The reason Danny Hultzen, James Paxton and Taijuan Walker are on the list is because they were expected to make some significant noise during spring training. It was even expected by many that at least one of them would make the the five man rotation — let alone the opening day roster.

Unfortunately, all three will start 2013 in the minors.

Hultzen’s spring wasn’t anything to frown upon — he just didn’t get enough innings. When he did throw he looked great, but the sample size was too small. Walker and Paxton struggled, however, showing they need more time to work on their command and composure.
