K.J. Wright Is An ‘Elite’ Defender
(1090 The Fan) – Who are the top 4-3 outside linebackers in the NFL?
The Bleacher Report did the hard work for us by presenting the 35 best in the league with in-depth analyses. And based on a point system that weighs a player’s performance at stopping the run, blitzing and pass coverage, the Seahawks’ K.J. Wright is considered one of the better outside linebackers in the NFL.
At number 11, 2011’s 99th overall pick out of Mississippi State is called an “elite” coverage linebacker because of his stellar ability to anticipate routes coming into his area — and he has the athleticism to keep up with receivers down the field. Matt Miller of the Bleacher Report says Wright’s quickness is what puts him above the majority of outside linebackers in the NFL.
Sean Weatherspoon of the Atlanta Falcons is the highest-rated OLB from the NFC, snagging the number three spot.
