Woman Arrested In Assault On WSU Professor

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — A female student at Washington State University has been arrested in connection with the beating of a professor near campus.

21-year-old Madeline A. Fouts was arrested by Pullman police on Wednesday after they received an anonymous tip.

She was arrested on suspicion of rendering criminal assistance and providing false statements to a public servant.

Pullman police say they have solid leads on three remaining male suspects.

On Tuesday, WSU President Elson Floyd donated $10,000 to the reward fund to help catch the assailants.

David Warner remains in critical condition at a Spokane hospital. Police say he was beaten about 2 a.m. on March 30 while intervening in a fight between an acquaintance and a group of college-age people.
