SEATTLE (AP) — Corporate sponsors have revived plans for a big Fourth of July fireworks show in Seattle that will be produced this year and into the future by Seafair as part of the city’s annual summer celebration.
The plans were announced at a news conference Tuesday by Seafair, the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn.
Plans call for a 20-minute show from a barge on Lake Union near Gasworks Parks. The traditional fireworks show is viewed by hundreds of thousands of people.
Plans for this year’s show were called off April 1 when the former producer, One Reel, said donations fell short.
The chamber helped round up long-term support from Microsoft, Amazon.com, DoubleDown Interactive, Starbucks, Wells Fargo, and Tom Douglas restaurants. KIRO-TV is the broadcast partner.
