(1090 The Fan) – The Seahawks and Jerrod Johnson agreed to terms on Wednesday. He joins Brady Quinn and Josh Portis as a backup to starter Russell Wilson.

The undrafted rookie joined the Pittsburgh Steelers in early 2012, but was released before the season started. Prior to the Steel City, a similar situation happened to Johnson with Philadelphia Eagles; He signed on July 26, 2011 but was released during training camp on August 18.

Johnson started 29 of 37 career games at Texas A&M and finished his career holding 24 school records, including total offense (8,888 yards), passing yards (8,011), completions (650) and touchdown passes (67).
