(CBS Seattle) — Grab your helmet and hit the road! Washington is the most bike-friendly state in the country for the sixth year in a row, according to the annual report by The League of American Bicyclists.

The Bike Friendly America program collects data on cycling laws, how easy it is to ride in the city, the prevalence of education and safety programs and how many opportunities people have to ride.

Colorado was a close second, followed by Oregon.

Along with the state getting top honors, Seattle received a Gold rating as a bike-friendly community. In addition, Seattle Children’s Hospital and Microsoft received Gold rankings as some of the state’s most bike-friendly businesses.

May is National Bike Month. This year, Bike to Work Week is May 13-17.
