Motorcyclist Gets $1,103 ticket For Speeding In Oregon

(CBS Seattle) — A Medina man has a hefty fine to pay for a joy ride in Oregon, where he got caught going more than 70 mph over the posted speed limit.

According to KING 5, Oregon State Police pulled over the 61-year-old after clocking him at 130 mph.

The ticket for going 130 mph in a 55 mph zone is $1,103 — that’s the automatic fine for going more than 100 mph in Oregon.

The man told the trooper he’d just purchased the Ducati bike and wanted to see what it could do, KING 5 reported.

Oregon State Police say the man could also have his license suspended.
