(CBS Seattle) — The Kent man accused of killing a woman in a crash on Interstate 5 is now charged with vehicular homicide.
King County prosecutors say that when 24-year-old Aneet Chandra slammed into a guard rail May 1, he was looking at a cell phone picture of a scantily clad woman, the Seattle P-I reports.
Investigators say Chandra had been drinking that night. It isn’t clear yet whether his blood alcohol level was above the legal limit.
The crash killed a passenger in Chandra’s car. She’s identified as 20-year-old Asha Salim. Chandra and three others in his vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries; two passengers remained on life-support a week after the crash, according to the Seattle P-I.
