It’s Election Filing Week

(CBS Seattle/AP) — Those hoping to hold public office have to declare their intentions this week.

Candidates for local, state and federal office must file online, in person or by mail by end of the day Friday.For county offices, they should contact their county election office. For statewide office and legislative districts that cross county boundaries, they should contact the Washington Secretary of State’s office.

Next Monday is the deadline to withdraw applications if candidates change their minds.The primary is Aug. 6 this year and the general election is Nov. 5.
