(1090 The Fan) - The Seahawks have added another receiver to their roster, and this one has local ties.
The team announced it signed Justin Veltung, a former Puyallup High School star who later went on to play at the University of Idaho.
The 5’10″-183 pound receiver played in 43 games in college. During his tenure he snagged 62 receptions for 901 yards, eight touchdowns and returned 80 kickoffs for 1,743 yards — two of those going all the way. He left Idaho as its all-time kickoff return leader (78) and kickoff return yardage leader (1,743), and 11th on its all-time all-purpose yardage list with 2,972 yards.
Veltung attended Seattle’s rookie minicamp on a tryout basis from May 10-12.
