Hybrid Luxury From Lexus Is A Home Run
I drove the 2013 Lexus GS 450h from Seattle to Portland and it was one of the nicest trips to the Rose City and back ever.
The audio in this Lexus is, by far, the finest sound system I have ever experienced. I was hearing new things in songs that I’ve listened to hundreds of times. Great sound system from the14-speaker Mark Levinson audio system Lexus.
This is a gas-electric hybrid mated with a 3.5-liter six and a high-output electric motor that makes 340 horsepower. Hybrid yes, Prius like mileage, not so much. I averaged around 23 miles per gallon combined, your mileage may be better depending on how much lead you have in your right foot. Acceleration isn’t bad. 0-60 in five and a half seconds.
The interior is first class all the way. From the stitched leather to the heated and cooled seats to the beautiful wood trim, this is a very nice place to hang out. I am of average height, and I had plenty of room to stretch out and cruise. And cruise is what you will do. Even though you can adjust the car for a sport mode, like this, you won’t feel as if you can treat this Lexus like a sports car, and really most people who buy this gas electric car won’t.
This Lexus is one of the nicest all around cars I’ve had the honor to drive in a long time. The attention to detail, fit and finish and decent looks make this a must test drive if your looking for refined and classy way to go about your daily business.
You will pay for all this goodness. Prices start at around $59,000 dollars.
