(1090 The Fan) – While we’re compelled to preface every Seahawks “offseason article” with rhetoric that will lead you to believe we’re ignoring the hype surrounding the team, it’s becoming unavoidable.
From experts who’ve been around the NFL for decades to hacks who are fresh out of broadcasting school, it’s hard to find somebody who isn’t impressed with the moves General Manager John Schneider and Head Coach Pete Carroll have made for Seattle in the last few months.
Aaron Nagler of the Bleacher Report says the Hawks have come a long way from the days of, “trading for Charlie Whitehurst” and that the team right now is built to be a Super Bowl contender. Nagler says the team went “crazy on the pass rush” in free agency by landing Cliff Avril and Michael Bennett and adds that the moves — which to some seemed like overkill to an already stellar defense — are going to make it even easier for an elite pass-rushing unit to get to the quarterback.
