Stepfather Locates Runaway Through Escort Ad
(CBS Seattle / AP) — A Pierce County man who had been looking for his runaway teenage stepdaughter has located her through an online prostitution ad.
Subsequently, the stepfather helped police locate two men now charged with promoting sex abuse.
Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist says a friend of the stepfather arranged to meet the girl Monday at a motel in Fife and police were alerted. They found the motel room registered in the name of two men, who were at the motel with another 15-year-old runaway girl.
According to Northwest Cable News, one of the men allegedly admitted the room was rented for prostitution while the other claimed to not know what was going on despite having the room registered under his name.
The prosecutor says Joshua Jones and Samuel Miles-Johnson were arrested and charged with promoting commercial sex abuse of a minor.
Both men pleaded not guilty Tuesday. Bail was set at $500,000.
