(1090 The Fan) – Thursday’s opening segment on the Sandmeyer Show was a gem if you aren’t a fan of Howard Lincoln or Chuck Armstrong.

Coming off a week of questionable player moves — and an agonizing loss to the Houston Astros, the Mariners’  teed up yet another opportunity for Seattle sports fans to groan in unison. Like many in the Emerald City, Sandmeyer, Swartz and guest Art Thiel could not resist questioning the employment of Lincoln and Armstrong.

One of the astonishing revelations from the conversation was when Thiel reported that at one time Dusty Baker was not considered as a managerial candidate because his grandson wandered onto the field during a playoff game. Lincoln said because of that instance, Baker was an “undisciplined dugout manager.”
