Residents Start ‘Glock Block’ Group To Fight Crime

MILWAUKIE, Ore. (CBS Seattle) — Residents of one Oregon neighborhood have instituted a “Glock Block” group in order to fight crime in the area.

KOIN-TV reports that a group of neighbors in Clackamas County are taking matters into their own hands to take on criminals.

“We’re starting a new group,” Coy Tolonen told KOIN. “We don’t feel neighborhood watch is sufficient, and we don’t feel the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is sufficient.”

And to prove they are serious they put up fliers that read: “This is a Glock block. We don’t call 911.”

“I will defend myself and my home,” Tolonen told KOIN.

Tolonen says that the group has legal permits to arm themselves.

Criminals have only committed petty crimes so far in the Milwaukie neighborhood, but Tolonen fears it could worsen.

Clackamas County authorities are warning against any type of vigilantism.
