(CBS Seattle) — A Dave Matthews fan in Pennsylvania was on her way to see the superstar in concert Saturday (July 13) when something unimaginable happened; she saw Dave Matthews himself stranded on the side of the road.
Emily Kraus told Boston’s WHP TV, she and her boyfriend immediately pulled over to help. Matthews was on his bike when it broke down and he didn’t have a cell phone with him. Kraus says her boyfriend secured the bike to the bike rack and they gave Matthews a ride to the concert. They were a bit star-struck, saying they didn’t know what to talk to him about, so they just asked about his current tour.
Kraus told WHP that Matthews, who lives in Seattle, was “a very humble guy.” He invited her and her boyfriend to dinner, brought them backstage and even signed their concert tickets.
Matthews was so grateful to avoid being a no-show for his own concert, he thanked the couple by name during the show, according to the Daily Mail.
On WHP’s Facebook page, Kraus later wrote, “My cheeks still hurt from smiling, giggling and laughing all night long… this will always be remembered.”
