(CBS Seattle) — Seattle police arrested a man in the University District early Tuesday morning after he crawled into a home naked.
Officers responded to the home in the 5000 block of 8th Ave. NE just after one a.m. The residents said a naked man they didn’t know crawled through a window on the first floor then asked for a woman who didn’t live there. The naked man then asked if he could crash at the house. When the residents told him no, he crawled back out the window.
Police arrived and sent out a K9 team, but were not able to track down the suspect. An officer in a patrol car later spotted a man with jeans and no shirt riding a bike, but when the man spotted the patrol car, he ditched the bike and ran away on foot. The suspect was discovered hiding on the roof of a home in the 700 block of NE 53rd St. Fire crews were called in to bring the man down from the roof. The original victim identified the man as the naked suspect.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the hospital for evaluation. Police say drugs may have been involved. The suspect is expected to be booked into the King County jail later today.
