(1090 The Fan) — The Seahawks have signed tight end Michael Palmer one day shy of the team’s first day of training camp.
Palmer adds depth to Seattle’s tight end position after the team lost Anthony McCoy to an Achilles tear during OTAs.
Palmer played in 43 games with five starts over the last three seasons for the Atlanta Falcons after signing with the team as an undrafted rookie free agent on April 26, 2010. During his time in Atlanta, Palmer recorded 21 receptions for 123 yards and three touchdowns. On May 12, 2013, he signed with the New York Giants as an unrestricted free agent, until being released on May 29.
The team also released defensive back Ray Polk who had signed with Seattle as an undrafted free agent out of Colorado on April 27, 2013.
