(CBS Seattle) — A North Seattle family was awoken early Thursday morning when a burglar who had just broken in to their home set off their car alarm.
Seattle police say the suspect removed four window screens from the house near North 105th St. and Aurora, climbed inside and started collecting items in a bag to steal. The suspect was attempting to steal the car when the alarm went off, waking the family.
The suspect took off. Police arrived and tried to track the suspect using a K-9 unit, but were unsuccessful. Officials say the family reported two laptops, a gaming system and a wallet were missing.
