(CBS Seattle) — Authorities in Oregon are looking for a man they say impersonated a police officer in order to pull over and rob a woman in Woodburn, southwest of Portland Saturday night.
According to The Oregonian, the woman told police the man was wearing dark makeup to make his skin look darker and he redrew his eyebrows using makeup. He was also wearing a dark-colored uniform. The victim told police she saw a dark car with flashing lights behind her and pulled over. The fake cop asked for her license and registration and when the woman reached for the glove box, she said the man reached into the car, snatched her purse and walked quickly back to his car and drove off. The man’s uniform had “Jaime” embroidered above the left shirt pocket with a badge hanging below it and a shiny patch on the sleeve, The Oregonian reported. The woman also told investigators the car didn’t have its headlights on, but flashing red and blue lights near the dashboard were visible.
The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office and Woodburn Police Department are looking for the suspect.
