(CBS Seattle) — Seattle has gained the distinction of being one of the funniest cities in America, according to the real estate bloggers at Movoto.
They ranked cities based on the number of comedy clubs, how many comedians were born or live there and whether the city was the setting for a sitcom, among other things.
Seattle came in at number 7, scoring points as the setting of ‘Frasier’ and the home to production company Unexpected Productions which puts on the International Festival of Improv.
Atlanta was named the funniest city in America because on its abundance of comedy clubs, and because it’s the birthplace of Jeff Foxworthy.
Chicago came in second, mainly for its strong improv scene which includes The Second City and ImprovOlympic. Los Angeles Boston and New York rounded out the top five.
