(1090 The Fan) — Shortstop Brendan Ryan has been sent to the New York Yankees for a player to be named later, according to Mariners officials.
Ryan, 31, appeared in 87 games for the Mariners this season batting .192 (50×260) with 4 doubles, 2 home runs and 9 RBI. Ryan appeared in 32 games since June 11, hitting .182 over that stretch. He has started just 12 games at shortstop since July 1.
Ryan was acquired by Seattle on Dec. 12, 2010. He appeared in a total of 351 games with Seattle from 2011-2013, hitting a combined .215 (237×1103) with 48 doubles, 6 triples and 9 home runs.
