Dog Bites Portland Cop Waking Up Homeless

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Two men were booked into the Multnomah County Jail after police say they became combative as officers awakened people sleeping under the Morrison Bridge in Portland and a dog bit one of the officers.

Police used pepper spray Monday morning to regain control. The two men were jailed for disorderly conduct, harassment, interfering with a police officer and resisting arrest.

The officer who was bitten has a minor injury.

Officers were conducting a routine “wake-up” call and asking people to pick up their property.
